Open Morning

Looking Good

It’s not normally our style to ‘show off’ – even our West End quality drama productions are performed for only friends and family. I always advise gathered attendees at THS Open Mornings that we do not put on a pseudo display on a Saturday morning with marching bands et al – an Open Morning at THS is an opportunity to see our school in action, ‘warts and all’.  This can be a risky ploy, but one we are very comfortable with. Having said this, the school and its occupants were looking very smart this morning for the visit of over seventy prospective parents. Head Boy, Daniel Haarhoff and School Ambassador, Henry Drewitt-Jones performed their first public speaking duties. They certainly charmed the audience with their humour, sincerity and confidence. All year 8 boys, clearly the best advertisement for the school that one could wish for, escorted our guests around the school at work – answering questions honestly and politely. The feedback I have already received from our visitors tells me that the impressions made were universally positive – looking good, feeling good today!
