How we communicate on a daily basis

We see communication at Tower House as a vital part of the day-to-day running of our school. With a proficient I.T. network we have many ways that parents can contact us, as well as the school office contacting them.

As a prospective or current parent your first point of call is the school office. You can email the Secretary at the following address: secretary@thsboys.org.uk or contact her via the 'contact us' page above. Many of the forms you may require are available through our download section (at the top of each page) or through our intranet portal. Current parents have access to the intranet with their own usernames and passwords.

SMS Service

Tower House fully uses an SMS system to send texts and/or voicemails to parents in a variety of situations. These may be to remind you to prepare packed lunches during exam week, school closures, match cancellations and arrival/departure timings on school trips. It essential that parents notify us in the event of a change of their contact details.

Email

The email system is most widely used at Tower House and you are able to email any of the permanent teaching staff directly to contact them about any school matters. In the first instance you should email the school secretary who will forward on your email.

Want to email a teacher?

You can email a teacher through the 'Contact Us' page by clicking on your teacher's name. They will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible, given the constraints of their working day.

Newsletter

Our newsletter is published each week on a Friday afternon and summarises the events of the week as well as domestic notices for the coming term. The newsletter is emailed in PDF format so please make sure you have an appropriate reader to access the files. Copies of the newsletters are also archived on the school intranet.

In the event of an unexpected school closure or a major incident

If the school is to close unexpectedly an SMS will be sent to the parent body, given the status of the UK phone networks. We are able to trace who has and has not received their message and will endeavour to contact them through other means. Notices will also be posted on the school website and intranet homepages. This should be parents first port of call for information, rather than phoning the school. The site will and can be updated remotely to keep parents informed so do check on a regular basis.

School policies

Child Protection school policies are available in PDF format on this site. Other policies (see list in Policies section) that relate to more specific areas of the school life, are available on request.
