Where do our boys go to school after Tower House?
School Exams and Common Entrance:
From the first year of the Senior School (Year 4) pupils sit exams in each subject during the summer term. These have the joint purpose of enabling us to continue to monitor and address any weaknesses, and gently to introduce the boys to the concept of exams and exam technique.
During the summer term of their final year, all boys sit the Common Entrance exam, which is marked by their chosen school.
Next Schools:
As boys move up through the Senior School we closely monitor their progress. In consultation with parents our aim is to ensure that they sit Common Entrance for the school that's right for them.
Our success in this approach is reflected in the fact that all of our boys get into their chosen schools when they leave Tower House. The range of schools they move onto is broad and covers all academic abilities - as would be expected from a non-selective school. In an annual class of 20, the following table shows where the majority of boys have transferred from Tower House School over the past four years.
