Technology at Tower House School

Since 2003 Tower House has heavily invested in Technology to support both the curriculum and the running of the school. Interactive whiteboards and projectors are present in every classroom and there is a full multimedia suite in the school hall. Boys who require support in their lessons use notebooks to study with access to wireless printing and file sharing. However, the ethos of the technology is that of an equal balance between developing traditional study skills, such as using the library and hand writing, with producing everything on a computer. The ICT suite is used from Reception to Year 8 for both dedicated ICT lessons as well as cross-curricular work in subjects such as Latin, French, Geography and English. |
Some of the topics studied in ICT are:
Administration and day-to-day work is centred around the school intranet which parents and students have access to. Forms can be downloaded and printed at home or emailed back to school. Each student from Year 3 has their own email account which they use in their ICT lessons to email work.
