Our Values & Commitment
What does it mean to be a Tower House Boy?

Our commitment is to nurture academic excellence within a happy, stimulating and rich learning environment.
School Values
Our School Values are intrinsically linked, able to be put into action individually but also collectively, with every day at Tower House including an array of experiences to foster all our core values. However, at Tower House we also focus one of our six values each half term, to allow a deep dive into how that value can be best lived by our boys in and out of school.
In the Autumn Term, we start with the value which sits at the heart of all we do at Tower House: Kindness, before focusing on Respect in the second half of the term. An opportunity to encourage our boys to listen actively, value diverse perspectives and treat everyone in the school community with kindness and courtesy. There is an emphasis on Courage and Resilience in the Spring Term, as the boys consider what is truly meant to show courage, including moral, physical and social aspects, as well as providing an array of experiences for them to show resilience in the face of challenge. The Summer Term looks at opportunities to show Generosity to others, in terms of generosity of spirit as much as giving generously to others. And finally, we round off the school year with Curiosity, highlighting the wonder and joy behind learning and exploring areas for personal growth.
Through school assemblies, classroom discussions and role-modelling by our older boys in Years 7 and 8, our pupils learn that our values are shown not only through their words but also through their actions.
Our Values are not what we do but who we are at Tower House and act as the foundation on which we build all our boy’s individual and collectively experiences at school.
The school aims:
- Promoting a happy and caring community, built on respect, diversity and kindness, where every boy can flourish and thrive.
- Inspiring every boy to be curious, ambitious, adventurous and forward-thinking through exceptional teaching and learning.
- Encouraging exploration, creativity and discovery through an exciting and wide-ranging co-curricular programme, full of opportunity.
- Developing confident young men with humility and an awareness of others, a sense of social responsibility and an understanding of global challenges.
- Fostering a strong connection between home and school to the benefit of all members of the Tower House community.
