English

At Tower House, the English Department encourages initiative, individuality, independence, creativity and enquiry. We encourage and celebrate our students’ ability to use adventurous vocabulary, to write in original and interesting ways and to read for meaning beyond the literal.  We also encourage active participation in class and group discussion, allowing pupils to ask and answer questions freely. We want Tower House boys to be confident communicators.

We seek to enable every student to develop their ability to read, write, speak and listen and to do so with pleasure. The Department aims to engender a love of literature through class and independent reading. By doing so, we promote a wider understanding of the society in which we live and those societies in which others live.

Our goal is to support our students where and when is necessary but, ultimately, we want them to succeed by themselves.

"We seek to enable every student to develop their ability to read, write, speak and listen and to do so with pleasure"

Junior School Nativity

There are few things as delightful, and at times tear-jerking, as the Junior School Nativity. Thanks go to the Junior School staff who have been very busy making costumes and props - the boys looked absolutely spectacular.
Congratulations to Ms Whittingham and Mrs Barnett in particular for directing such a fabulous show!
