Starting Life at THS
It is very important to all our staff that new families have plenty of time to prepare their child for life at Tower House and can begin their school adventure with confidence and excitement for what lies ahead.
Induction into Reception
For our new Reception class we know that starting school is an extremely important milestone in every child’s life and can be an anxious time for parents too.
With this in mind, we have developed a detailed induction programme in the summer before the boys start, to allow parents to meet more members of staff, get to know other families and most importantly for the boys themselves to become familiar with Tower House and make some new friends. Reception staff also visit each pupil in their home as an opportunity to get to know the families and each boy in an informal and familiar setting.
For more information on the induction process and the events organised, please contact our Registrar, Mrs Booth.
Induction for Older Boys
For older pupils to prepare for life at Tower House, we invite the boys to come in for a morning in the summer term. We find that this provides a great introduction for the new pupil and making a few new friends early on helps dispel any nerves before the start of a new school year.
Induction for New Families
The Tower House families are right at the heart of the Tower House community and we are proud that lifelong friendships are made at our school events and functions. The Friends of Tower House (FOTH) provides a wonderful network of supportive parents that are happy to answer questions and provide assistance to new families. The school introduces new families to FOTH as soon as is convenient to new parents.
