School Life
Tower House is a proudly non-selective school which serves the local community. Reception Class works within the EYFS framework towards the Early Learning Goals. The purpose built Reception area is enhanced by the popular weekly Forest School in Richmond Park.
Years 1 to 3 are nurtured by Class Teachers but the curriculum is avowedly enriched by the teaching of Art, Games, PE and Music by subject specialist staff. Throughout the school the PE curriculum is delivered through the world class facilities of the Bank of England Sports Club. As well as a varied PE curriculum, Junior School boys enjoy weekly swimming.
Moving into Year 4, subject specialist teaching, ring fenced within teaching time, ensures the broad curriculum is delivered by highly qualified staff who are passionate about their subject area and dedicated to every boys’ success and achievement. Throughout the school, Tower House boys benefit from the enrichment provided by many visits to museums, galleries and places of interest which lie within our grasp in London and beyond.
Boys in Year 6 who undertake pre-tests for Senior Schools are supported by bespoke workshops in English and Maths to ensure the testing process is as comfortable and familiar as possible.
Years 7 & 8 see academic subjects work towards ISEB Common Entrance exams at 13+. These exams, recognised and validated by the country’s most prestigious Independent Schools, provide a framework for intellectual curiosity and developing skills pertinent to Senior School life and the future world of work. It is via this process that Tower House boys gain entry into St Paul’s School, KCS Wimbledon and 12 others Independent schools, both boarding and day; each supporting the needs and strengths of the individual boy.
